Bought this a while ago just barely installed it.

First thing I noticed is that it’s kinda loud and I’m not sure if I installed it wrong or got a faulty motor?

2nd thing is that it seems to go off every few minutes, but I think that’s due to the water level in the area it’s in fault since it’s almost at the same level as the sensor so I might have to use the legs instead

Let me know what you guys think about the issue and if you have any suggestions

I don’t have a reefmat, but I’ve been researching them a lot. Seems like they work better when they aren’t submerged in so much water. You need a larger gap between your water level and the sensors for it to work properly. The lower it is in the water level, the more filter roll you will use.

How wide is the sump area you have it in? I’m trying to design a new sump and I want to use a reefmat, but I’m not sure it will fit. Thanks

The motor can be somewhat loud, more so if your sump area is open and not in a cabinet. I have a 2 1200's and 1 500 and Ive noticed they all work better if the water level is essentially right above the pipe where water enters from the bottom. You will have most of the body above water level.

its in a water box one where the filter socks used to be so just barely, yeah I realized that cause the rolls are almost white.

I left the auto advance off and it got nice and caked up but as soon as I turned on the auto again it like rolled like a foot of nothing

Yea I have the 500 and not only is it noisy but I add a roll about every 3 to 4 weeks compared to my bubble magus I change roller every 6 months and my Eshopps I still haven’t changed d it yet almost a 8 months and yes they both work. I think it’s red sea’s way of making money on the rollers. Seriously

we'll see, so far its working good on manual, it gets very caked up

i know it kept spinning alot cause of the water level is already close to the sensor so well see once I add th legs
