I noticed one of purple firefish has been lethargic and sticking to the swimming around the subrate this week. Was eating normally just seemed like odd behavior. Came home from work this morning and found him like this. Fins looking shredded and there seems to be black spots on the tips of the fins.
I'm concern it might have spread to my second purple fire fish as they are a pair.
I purchased melafix to treat but honestly not sure what to do.
Any help welcome

Buddy just died as I typed this up.
Either way would like to know what it might have been and prevent the spread

Stomach seems a little concave, so possible internal parasites? How big of a tank and were they a pair or two of the same sex? Did you QT the fish? Hybrid TTM is super easy to follow and you can QT your own fish or simply treat them if necessary.

So my tank is fairly new, I set it up in October
Its a 50/55 gallong all-in-one. Both fish were from the same LFS and introduced a month apart back in late October and November.
I did not QT the fish. They were some of the first additions to the tank and since they came from the LFS I figured it was ok.
Thanks for the replies
