What fish/coral/invert are you looking for?

This was on my wish list for awhile and now I found it thanks to @Tangerine Speedo - ORA MIMF yellow porites (Porites cylindrica). Bad photo from while lights were still turning on the other day but such a distinctive yellow/mustard color. Last coral on my search list is some of the ORA MIMF...

    40 gallon aio build thread

So sorry about the fire and all that was lost, but glad you made it and are jumping back in. I think we met awhile ago, you gave me some phyto if I remember right and I've still got it growing. Excited to watch your build come together, let me know if you need anything.

    Mangrove / Macro / Softie lagoon - 20 long

Thanks! Yes I'm a sucker for Sarcophyton in general but especially the yellows. It wasn't quite fiji yellow but there was a wild yellow/white one I have fond memory of from back home. It was the only sarcophyton in its area, but huge, maybe 2ft diameter head in about 5m deep. Right in the...

    Mangrove / Macro / Softie lagoon - 20 long

In other news, I added ~15w of cheap COB leds with 90˚ lenses to up the par a little bit and fix color balance. I always had a goal of making the right -> left (backwards I know, but AIO end to not-AIO end) to have a shallow-to-deeper look. Of course the LTA wanted the far end so I had to raise...

Happy Memorial Day! Tank is looking extra good today thanks to the awesome Koji Wada from @bakbay - thank you again! And the mandarin orange zoas are setting in too. Did a bit of a rearrangement on Saturday to get acclimation zone for Koji Wada, then it's time to relocate the Grube's to unshade...

Crabs from the local rock pier

For work, I grow some of the a local species (Zostera) and it's indeed a pain, relatively low success rate but can be done. needs to be cold, i keep in the 58-60F range, bright but not insane lights (~4000 lumen 5000K led), and good mixing flow. I suspect deep, undisturbed silty sand bed is...

    Mangrove / Macro / Softie lagoon - 20 long

Yeah C. maculatum is the current name for them right? Or a name I've seen pitched around, but is that a hobbyist misID, do you know what you got them from Gerald as? seems there's a fair bit of variability in them (maybe not as much as mutabile). Just looking at examples from...

    Mangrove / Macro / Softie lagoon - 20 long

In all seriousness though, I really like these little guys. They remind me of Strombus / Canarium mutabilis (I think they're currently same genus actually?). Strombidae just has the coolest stuff in it.

Yep OG 24K Dove I can trace the lineage back to Walt Smith who hand carried them in his water bottle in 1992. Each birth is a rare occurrence serenaded by angels, the waiting list is longer than the wait list to get your kid into daycare, get them signed up for a chance at these snails ASAP.

they eat algae and are cool? i'm not sure the best way to brand them but probably something with ultra and rainbow in there if you'd find them online

    Mangrove / Macro / Softie lagoon - 20 long

I've been enjoying the dove snails I got from drexel, they have been reproducing great and i've been trying to track their developmental stages a bit. Caught one that hatched last night, this should be about 1 day out of the bubble, about 1mm. Copepod next to it for scale in the zoomed in photo...

VIVID INSANITY GROWOUT 2025 *Official Thread*

I mean, mine 99% sure got touched by a torch or hammer, so that's on me and not on the frag. in a 20 gallon basically everything is one snail touch away from a euphy. You bigger tank people should be fine in that regard :) Sucks because I thought I had it glued down too in the new 'final' spot...
