Jawfish are difficult to keep in captivity and don't last long unfortunately.

How long did you have it? Personally, I would wait a few weeks to make sure there isn't something funky going on in your tank.

I had one for many years. Got him from Cody Bean. I went to Hawaii last summer. The fish would come out to eat on one side of the tank but my tank sitter didn't follow instructions and neglected to feed him on his side of the tank. Poor guy. He was a very pretty fish.

I haven't had much luck with emperors or flames. I finally was able to keep a flame for an extended period of time after losing a few.
