not necessarily. Corals do like dirty water but there is such a thing as too dirty. My previous tank was sitting at 30-35. But corals where ok then got them down to 20 and corals were doing much better. Now with my new tank they sit at 12-15. One thing is don’t get stuck chasing numbers...

Let’s work on one thing here at a time. Let start by doing a small water change to get the no3 down and alk up. Test. Wait a a day. Change water again. Same amount. Change your floss or rinse it out. Also with IORC, when spinning up water use a bubble marker to equalize ph and other elements.

What’s your maintenance schedule like? Salt brand or do you buy it pre made. Top off water

not that it’s high but saltwater tanks do better at 76-78. But when you’re tank gets to 80 it can start causing problems. Do you run a chiller?

Looking at your test. Iron sticks Out but it can be misleading. And your no3 is a bit high and your kh is low. Double check your ph while you’re at it. And if your ink bird is really reading 79 temp that can also be an issue.

Does your Top off dump into the skimmer portion of your sump or in the return chamber? This happened to me on my old tank where my ATO dumped into the sock portion and was flowing through the skimmer chamber. I changed it to dump in the return and fixed the issue.
