    Bean's 300 Gallon AGE Build

What are the dimensions of the tanks? Most metal water heater stands are 22" square top and for the weight of a 40-50gal water heater (about 125lbs) + water. You can order 24" and I'm almost sure I've seen 26" but I don't know what weight they are designed to support.

Is this green paly bomb gonna spread its evil?

Only in movies and it's never good. It's some crazy paly + clam = palam hybrid thing. Don't feed it after dark or get it wet...un-oh.

My first reeftank back in 1994!!!:)

My 1st salt tank was in 85'! I'd had a 55gal fresh for years but I had to wait till I could drive before I went salt cuz I needed to go to the beach to get water, sand rocks & critters. Had 2 hob Marineland filters which is same filtration I had for fresh and a homemade skimmer that never really...

Anyone familiar with tankless water heaters?

I install water softeners on the water main which will serve hot & cold but non the less, a properly working RODI filtration system takes out EVERYTHING. That's why it's no longer recommended for drinking water.

Anyone familiar with tankless water heaters?

Check out Noritz EZTR40. It's designed to be an easy replacement for a 40gal tank (also made for 50's & 75's) that still works with 1/2" gas pipe, has water inlets at the top and vents exhaust through a plastic tube similar to a shop-vac hose through the existing flue pipe. Now knowing what is...

    Petco salt worth it?

I was thinking the same thing Dalton. My Petco and some I've checked in my travels through S.D. is $49. Get what you can while you can.

    Petco salt worth it?

Even if you need to add some more Calk, Mag or other trace elements you can't go wrong as long as it isn't full of nitrates of phosphates. I'd buy it, mix it, test it AND PLEASE post it. If it's bad you can always take it back.

    Transporting fish and coral

Insulated container like the previously mentioned styrofoam would be better than bucket because you want stability. How many gallons is it. Does styro container have a lid? The big thing you want to avoid is sudden temperature fluctuations like sun shining through window onto container. Battery...

    Moving tank need advice asap!

+1 with 805 & Greaser. It will probably be quicker to just pull everything and do it the right way than dealing with all the hassles & difficulties of trying to move the tank with stuff in it AND there is much less chance of something in the tank shifting & falling which could damage tank or...

    Red Sea 170 leak

I agree with Robert. Saving money is awesome but it comes with a risk and rimless tanks need to be right. Small drip is a manageable failure that can put you in a rush for yet another tank but God forbid you fully pop the seam cuz then you just grab a mop, throw everything out & start over and...

Reef safe"ish"...until they're not. It's like when someone asks me if my pet (dog, bird,snake...) will bite. It certainly CAN but in the right circumstances and based on past experiences it is highly unlikely. Just remember it's there if anything looks wrong. It's probably been in there for a...
