Hello, A little bird told me.

We're talking about swapping frags/freebies. Although @Tangerine Speedo FYI, there's a freebies and sweet deals sub forum as well in case you want to donate to anyone--I used to post there about macros and xenia all the time till both got wiped (xenia on purpose). Here is where I also post...

    Please Help Bubble Algae Outbreak

For chemicals, Fluconazole (Flux Rx, Reeflux) are likely the best + patience. Dose Flux at 4x the recommended dose, which is recommended for bryopsis. Take out carbon, turn off skimmer. Keep lights running regular throughout, as light is necessary for the Flux to work. First dose sits in your...

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

I would probably go ahead as usual then. Keep an eye on it, I imagine.

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

Oh that I don't know. Never used nopox. Does it affect water oxygenation?

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

Yes, I also refrigerated cipro and best if protected from light, so I foil wrapped the tube. That might be overkill since it's usually dark in the fridge, unless people are opening and closing a lot.

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

The article didn't talk about skimmer use, so entirely possible you can go ahead as usual. I don't know much about skimmers or what exactly they pull out of the water. Since it's only a 6 day treatment, I would probably err on the side of caution and turn it off. But if I knew more about what is...

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

P.S. and PSA: There is a lot of concern from different people and groups about antibiotics use and the spread of antibiotic resistant bacteria. That is a valid concern, but something that is totally untested in an aquarium setting. Nobody can tell you what the real risk is because no one...

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

This is a good article to read: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/experimenting-with-in-tank-antibiotic-treatments-for-brown-jelly-disease.782438/ Basically take a 500 mg ciprofloxacin tablet, crush it, and try to dissolve it in 50mL of RODI. Using that solution (10mg/mL stock), add the amount...

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

Thanks for the offer! I know about the dosing and effectiveness of ciprofloxacin, but not Cephalexin. Probably best to stick with the cipro. Thanks, though!

Need a cipro for BJD near Irvine

Hi all, Hammer is coming down with BJD. I plan to cut off the affected head but want to treat the tank to ensure it doesn't get to the other LPS. The dose you use for this is so low, I'd only need one pill. Anyone have an aborted round of cipro laying about? Thanks!

    Reef safe wrasses

    Halichoeres chloropterus?

    Reef safe wrasses

    - Sixline if you want to roll the dice on aggression--they can become mean - Halichoeres melanarus and Yellow wrasse H. chrysus is often labeled non-reef-safe, but lots of people have them with no problems to their inverts, probably luck of the draw - Other Halichoeres might be useful...
