Would the water loss from when the unit detects a full tank to when it's low cause a significant parameter swing? I'm sure on a large tank there wouldn't be a significant difference but on smaller tanks I'm thinking just the evaporation overnight could be a concern.

Tank is still cycling but was wondering if it was worth getting a HOB skimmer. It will mostly be softies and 3 or 4 fish. Not much luck with SPS but will probably try a few pieces once tank becomes more established.
