best growth I ever had with sps was with an iwasaki 6700k bulb in a frag tank. works great ime but tank looks yellow/white and corals look bland. corals looked great under 20k bulbs so I'd switch out the bulbs when I sold frags. Sounds like Palleta solved that issue.

Yeah I did. Reactors, fancy skimmers, additives and all that. I now dose alk & kalkwasser, try to keep up with water changes and that's it. Even went back to IO salt after years of using all the $$$ salts. Don't have super high end sps anymore but haven't killed anything since going "simple"...

Mine have split after a temp spike in the tank. Bad idea imho to stress them to split. Agree with previous about feeding. Feed it every day and it'll split for you.

+1. Filters are interchangable. You really don't need "special" filters for chloramine just regular maintenance ime.
