    well i upsized the pipe in the overflow and that helped a bit but not completly stoping the noise so after trying reverse dorso and all that i ended up adding a **** ball valve, was looking for a gate valve but they did not have any. ither way this finally helped and the noise level is now...

    Sweet i just won the Perfect light IT2081 for my tank for only 170$ steal. Same as the Reefbreeders photon 32 Should be great i useto have the 24 inch versions and they where great.

    So i was reading that when using a dorso stand pipe the pipe should be up sized and then redused to the bulhead. Maybe thats y issue ??? since i used 1 inch on 1 inch bulkhead i should have gone 1 1/4 reduced to 1 inch to bulkhead

    OK so i got the noise in the Sump to lessen by reducing the amount the drain pipe goes under the water but now the gurgle noise up top by the hole is bugging me.

    oh you using flex pipe for drain that right there makes it pretty silent, im only running a rio hf 17 on here now going to eventually get a vectra m1 but for now its fine going to ad maybe 2 mp40qds. or to mp10s not sure yet.

    the screen cap will get clogged with nori and be worst. i think im going to try and make a cover for the overflow and also the reverse dorso method for now and see how that works

    Has any one done a reverse Dorso method i was reading that might help, i really dont want to put any valves as i dont have a 2nd drain so in case any snails go in there.

    ok so just filled the Tank and them the Drain is noisy down at the Sump area making bubbles noises everywhere, So mu original plans was to run all 45S no 90s but the union made it that if i used a 45 it would hit the sump so i used the 90. I believe its the 90 causing the noise. So im...

    I think you jinx me, Drain is crazy noisy in the sump with bubbles. IM like Tham it !!!! Up top its fine just down in the sump it makes a bunch of noise. i think i might take out the union and at the 45 right then straight to another 45 where the sock would be and maybe add a gate valve...

    Should be filled up by tonight. If i need a valve to reduce flow from return line i can add that no problem being as i want to posibly make it a manifold it will be simple.
