School me? Whats the differences between scrubbers, fuge, algae reactors?

They are all just exporting nutrients one way or another. I have used most of them including upflow algae scrubbers.but I think my favorite would be the one I have yet to try, the reactor. It’s a great idea, doesn’t take up room in your sump and you can easily control the amount of water that...

    New algae Reactor

I really like this idea. Do you think it will add much heat to the tank? I’m guessing it would be minimal.

IM Minimax reactor or media basket

On my last tank I ran a reactor with a mix of carbon and gfo. And one with bio media. Seemed to work well. Reactors are more money but do a much better job then a media basket

Do I need Skimmer on 13.5 Gallon Aquarium?

Short answer No. small water changes on a tank that size should be fine. And I have never found the micro sized skimmers to be very effective Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Curing live rock?

I'm a firm believer in starting out with dead dry rock, clean it, and cure it. This along with proper quarantine will keep your tank safe from pest and unwanted hitch hikers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Curing live rock?

Do they still sell that stuff??? I remember seeing it a long time ago. I wouldn't recommend using it, you have no idea what you're putting in your tank. Mantis shrimp, crazy algae, types of parasites. I have even heard of a baby octopus making its way into a tank Sent from my iPhone using...

Using Seaweed to get rid of nuisance algae in your aquarium or pond

A simple concept. I am a fan of using scrubbers and fuges, t would be interesting to see a reef tanks water testing before and after using a scrubber. Do a triton test and see the difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
