I moved from an AI prime 16hd to a xr15 G5 on my waterbox 20 cube. It's been a lot of trouble tuning to be honest. I wish I kept with the AI just because of the lighting reset/algae bloom it created. Good luck.
Constantly jealous of your tank! Also just baffled that switching lights for you seems to have had zero issues. I've had significant bleaching and RTN, even with PAR measurements. Tell me your secrets!
Easiest way is to turn off pumps and use a wet shop vacuum. More difficult is to use an external pump (likely needs priming) connected to some flexible tubing.
Goodness those are exquisite coral colonies. Your photography skills really impress. I'm looking forward to seeing how your tank adjusts to the MH. Lighting changes seem to cause reactions in corals, or at least I've noticed this anecdotally. I've recently reduced my LED intensity and am running...
Similar strategy I've used. Glove and massage that foot. My little RBTAs took about 15min of rub-a-dub-dub. I agree an hour is required for your behemoth 😅
Agreed, you're good to go. Just make sure you feed a smidge so the bacteria don't starve.
If you want confidence, dose liquid ammonia to 1ppm, next day you should have nitrate measurements. If not, you've got a problem.
Did you start with dry rock or live rock? Did you use bottled bacteria? Did you use liquid/powder ammonium, or what was your food source to feed the bacteria.
For sure beautiful pieces, but neither of these is mid range imo. Who is selling a home wrecker for $50, please let know. Those are top tier I believe.
