    Carbon in sump

I'm for Carbon as well. Just make sure its rinsed so that carbon dust doesn't get into the display.

    Question about coral bleaching

I agree with Jose. Also corals can lose some coloration from 0 nitrates. You can try adding amino acids to your regimen or Korallen-Zucht Pohls Xtra special which helps with faded color corals.

    Coraline algae?

Pic is blurry to be sure but it very well could be. If it doesn't wipe off then it most likely is.

    Bean animal overflow plumbing

I used 90's and it didn't have any effect on the noise. Just make sure that all drains are submerged into the sump water line, otherwise you will hear the trickle more than anything else.

Something for glass tank bottom - not egg crate

Most reefers use starboard for bare bottom tanks as it tends to be cheaper. a lot of OC guys goes to paragon plastics in Santa Ana to pick up sheets of this or PVC sheet.

Converting a 10g AIO to a drilled tank

I think it will be a PITA to remove any of the chamber walls and you'll definitely risk cracking something you don't want to. I'd do what Goober mentioned. Also, no need for anything elaborate. 10 gallon doesn't need much flow rate compared to a larger tank.

    Let's talk ATOs

Haha yeah replace it. It won't be dead silent but I think you'll be surprised how little noise it makes when submerged. Those pumps should be replaced yearly.

    Let's talk ATOs

Anyone running directly from RODI to ATO? I know of some who have before but that always scared me about the unlimited amount of flooding that could happen from a failure

    Let's talk ATOs

Tunze ATO pumps are usually quiet but you can't let them run dry. Once they do they get loud like that. Stay on top of your ATO top offs sonny!

    High Ca and Mg

Yeah Like Jose said. Just let the tank work it out. Just make sure to keep Alk stable and where you want it to be.

    Feeling frustrated

Are you running carbon? I'd run plenty of carbon just in case contaminants made it's way into the tank. It gets overlooked but it happens eg. someone spraying air freshener in the same room as the tank or even those plug ins

Does anyone have an acrylic tanks set up with sand?

make sure to get a good algae magnet cleaner like the Tunze one. Algae magnets that trap sand are major culprits for scratching up tanks.

    Replace bottom panel

Give Coral Gazers a call. I'm not sure if they still do it but they used to repair quite a few tanks back in the day.

    Advice needed: new build

How much flow do you plan on putting through the return pump? I have the ghost overflow on my 150g and plugged the third drain because I thought it was overkill. I'd go with 2 1" drains and 2 3/4" returns. Would be plenty for a 70g tank.
