Tank dilemma: Push through, reboot, or remove+scrub?

I would go with option A, stop scrubbing the rock and let your CUC do it's thing. how long do you run your light? a little algae is a good thing as long as it doesn't cover your corals. have you think about adding a refugium or algae scrubber?

    molly for algae control

Thanks but those may not last in my tank long term. After more research, I think I'll add more cerith snails and a Biota court jester goby or a tail spot blenny

    molly for algae control

anyone keep molly for algae control in their reef tank? any downside? Thinking about getting a small black Molly to help eat GHA. are they any risk of transferring disease if I get a freshwater one and acclimate them without QT? would something else work better for a 14 gallon? Thanks

    Urchins

what type of urchins is that? I almost got a baby blue tuxedo yesterday but instead pick up some Astraea and a Trochus snail to deal with some hair algae. Orphek lens works well to filter out the blue https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZJX6JT9/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

the 2nd time is the charm

Thanks everyone. I'll check out the moonshine method and do more research. hopefully there's not too much different then a no water change on planted tank since I plan on keeping macro algae. This is more of a learning tank and I'll to do water change only if something goes wrong. I plan to...

the 2nd time is the charm

Hi all, just want to intro myself. I got into saltwater when I was a kid when I saw my first mandarin dragonet at the LFS. I decided I must have him and take him home that same day with a new AIO setup. Sadly he starved to death after 3 - 4 months but I stay with reef for a few more years. I...
