Just to update my posting, the Yellow Tang has become so aggressive that the Powder Blue needed to be put in a QT tank for safety, so once the Powder Blue is back to full health, the Yellow is going to a new home.

It is a screen where algae is grown to remove nutrients and pollutants from the water, similar to cheato.

You can always try it out, but the best growth seen has been using bulbs with the color temperatures I recommended.

I wouldn't do it, it is too likely that some of the chemicals will still be in it even if you soak it in some bleach.

Never heard of that happening, I would have someone look at it.

I have seen Fish Supply get one in on special order a few times, but not recently.

I think they are doing fine. I only see one, and he decided that the sand bed is a more attractive place to clean.

Welcome. 1-drilling a hole in a glass aquarium while it is running is not a good idea, I would recommend a hang on back overflow box with an Aqua Lifter pump 2- I would advise you to install one on a separate pump off of your sump 3- a good economic choice would be a Reef Ocotpus brand...

I am not trying to eliminate the cleaning it's just that I spend 30 minutes every other day scraping the acrylic. It's not a lot of algae it's just that it's hard to get off. I would just like something that helps a little bit.

Well I have a Yellow, Powder Blue and Blue Hippo Tangs and they will only eat algae off the back of the tank. I don't want all the algae gone I just want something that will help some. Phosphates I don't test for but would be almost zero since that's one of the things the ATS target...

I have had the problem with algae on the front of my acrylic(I have to scrape it every other day) and I was thinking of getting a turbo snail. Any better ideas?

I would recommend Amazing Aquariums and Reefs too(amazingaquariumsandreefs.com).

I think its broken, test it with some hose water to see if it is really broken.
