    Biota order

Thanks I didn't know, but I also live up in LA so it's not always easy to just scoop one up if they did. What have they been selling for there? Biota direct is $165 at the moment for a yellow tang.

    Reefapalooza

I think deals can be found but there's still a lot of stuff that is priced high. IMHO I think you'll generally find better deals from your local hobbyists, but you will see a lot more variety at the show which is great even if you're just window shopping. RAP is fun in general just to be...

    Bubble algae nightmare

My 73G was overrun with bubble algae... I was able to clear up my tank with 3 LARGE emerald crabs in a matter of weeks... I had to remove them after since they picked the tank clean. Avoid the small crabs since they won't do much IMO.

    FS: Dragon Soul Torches

Man I'm jealous of everyone else's frags. Mine hasn't opened up fully after a month now and it's right next to other torches doing well in my tank (along with everything else). Not trying to throw shade at the OP, but I've never had a coral not open up like this after so long.

    Dan's Reef Room

Nice setup Dan! OT a bit, but I'm curious about the solar... I realize that it's an upfront investment, but how much are you saving on your electric bill as a result. Curious about how the math is working out for you given your usage. Thanks.

    Buying coral from local reefers

Agree a lot with what was said above. I'll add/reiterate: - Asking how long the corals have been in their system - Wild/aquacultured/tank-raised... the latter two have better chances of survival. - How they've cared for the coral (feeding, flow/light parameters in their tank) - Asking their...
