staying on topic, I think all those things you listed and what the others have listed can be used to run a successful SPS tank without a skimmer.

Probably programming errors/conflicts from too much tinkering with it. It happened to me when I had too many modules. Sometimes they can IP into it & fix the code, mostly they need it sent back. Thats why I had 2 displays and brains per tank. Too much automation is a bad thing.
