It is a great idea. About welding skill, that is not critical here. If you were to weld the house pumping when the job has to be perfect, but this one, all you need is very basic welding....You can even use metal screws to secure the pipes...!

unlike Ecotech pumps, the RW-xx pumps have the whole thing on the wet side except the magnet to station the pump. So you only want to buy the pump but not the magnet? I don't know how much that would save you because the RW-15 is already so cheap, taking out the magnet is not going to save you...

Target feed them at night with pumps turn off for 15 mins. Try that and they have a good chance to come back. They don't light a lot of light or flow.....

Well, that toadstool is not really representing the best Tyree Toad stool. I have seen a better japansese toad btw. However, I agree the Japansese toad is better looking. However, the Ausie green toad is not deep water and looking pretty good too.

What is the difference between metal rust from pumps and rust from GFO? Actually I think GFO is rust!
