    Macro algae ID!

Are the leaves small? Hard to tell in the pic. If so it looks like caulerpa Brachypus. My tanks were over run with that stuff at one point. My blues, sailfin, and foxface rabbit fish eat it like it's their last meal. :)

I know what I am going to do during winter vacation...

If there is no plumbing coming out the back you can lay it on that and cover it with an inch or two of vinegar water. And the overflow you can just spray with the warm vinager and use a brand new glass scraper blade. Emphasis on brand new since it will least likely scratch up the acrylic because...

Looking for an ID on this coral

It is fungia. I forgot the name but pence it gets big enough it will pop it's self off the stalk and a new one will grow in it's place. I have one 4 yrs ago and grew it into a 5" plate with many offspring. The one I have now I'm up to my third baby in a year.

    Leather Toadstool in trouble?!

I would blow out the hole and make sure nothing stays in there so it can heal. It probably won't heal to the point where the hole will close up but at least it will stop rotting away. With big toadstools like that it's hard to notice if detritus settles in the middle. That's what most likely...

    Need new bulbs

If you want more color and don't mind the slower(not really) growth rate run more on the blue side. The whites are more for growth. We found the middle ground with b+,p+,b+,b+,p+,b+. It's easy on the eyes and color and growth are nice. :)

Muriatic Acid and all--how do you?

Last time I checked, instant ocean will always mix a little on the high side with re: to alkalinity. If you'd like the alk a little lower, I recommend reef crystals, as it's geared more towards people who use dosers / carx's and prefer to start with a lower alk. Sorry, no experience with...
