    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Not the monti cap type of plate. LOL. The fungia plate corals that sit on the sand. I also like monti caps as well, but I'm avoiding it for this build because it does grow quickly and cause shading issues. Caps do look really cool and makes the reef look like a reef.

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

I’ve always liked plate corals because they are easy to take care of and have good colors. And they just stay on the sand bed and don’t bother anything. Back in the days, I only remember seeing orange or green plates, and I had an orange one in my first tank. The 2 tiny one I got now are...

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Phosphates 0.10-0.15 ppm. Nitrates 15-20ppm. I think I have been running salinity @1.027-1.028. Trying to get everything back to nominal, and see if corals like it better. I also got a nice unnamed SPS frag from Ali, and he said it’s similar to a Paletta Pink Tip acro. I want to see if I...

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

I can tell my corals (especially SPS) are not happy right now...growth and colors are not there. I took a sample of my tank water to Ali's LFS to check if my salinity is correct. Looks like I'm still a little high @ 1.027. I'm going to slowly drop the salinity to 1.026. Perhaps, that will...

    Wtb live phytoplankton

Yo, I’ve heard good thing about https://ogreefs.com/ And the price is same as going into store. I also bought from Amazing Reef LFS, it was decent phyto. I also picked up some Tommy’s phyto at the recent coral shows and it looks good as well. He said that Reef Factory LFS in Placentia will...

    BFIGGY’S 10G NANO REEF TANK

Doesn't matter if small or big tank, we're all just trying to keep things steady and alive. You got a good mix of corals that should thrive in a smaller tank. Some of most color tanks I've seen are zoa, rock flower or ricordea gardens in a nano.

    Oc coral show

It's the tiny plate (next to my sunset orange plate). Size of a dime. Not sure what it is going to look like when it gets bigger. Hopefully something cool, but it's a gamble. I just hope it doesn't get blown away. I forgot this isn't a diaspora plate, it is a fungia plate. There was...

    GlennF's 300 gallon mixed reef.

glenn, What salinity and temperatures are you running? I think I read before you run at 33ppt and 25C...is this correct? That is like 1.023 sg for salinity. That's counter to what a lot of people say 1.026 sg.

Hello, Back at it after 10+ years awayasd

Cool. I didn't know that Waterbox made custom tanks. That's a unique dimensions, can't wait to see what it looks like. Great depth. You will need some tongs at that height.

    Oc coral show

Lots of cool corals. Scored on a couple nice zoas. Got a nice SPS frag and baby diaspora plate. Nothing exotic for me, just kept it reasonable. Good deals.

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Went to the OC Coral Show, and got some cool corals. Nothing fancy, didn't really want to spend too much. My favorites were: I picked up a tiny Fungia plate (since of a dime). I thought it had a lot of potential. Doesn’t look too great now, but it may color up later. Also got some Tommy's...

    Aquarium lid suggestions?

I did hear the salt creep on black does show more. But it may be easy to remove, just put the lid in the shower and hose it down.

    Stratosphere Variations

No, yours would not be called strats because each named coral is specific featured and should have some lineage. But yours is a variation of it, so it would be considered a no name or just a variation of strat. Price is whatever the buyer will pay. Some people care about names and others don’t.

    Stratosphere Variations

Looks cool. There are probably lots of variations in the wild. I think strats are a certain way, and that's how it is identified. People just go for named pieces because it is easier to identify, so they command higher prices. But there are lots of variations no names, but people are stuck...
