i have 360 gals of sump outside, a swimming pool, and a house built in the 50's. My inside heater heater is going turning on all of the time. extreme cold spell. electric bill is over $400.00 I can't keep my water above 73 deg. No ich but i am waiting. Keep the faith. you are not the only one.

could not agree more about testing. when i started with sw it was more about can i keep a fish alive. testing didn't tell me much only i lost another Tang ( ich magnet) as my tank matured, i could add just about anything. did not worry about much except salt (water changes) and nitrates. i...

all of that nasty "stuff" is waste. as long as it remains in your tank, it will continue to decompose. start researching clean up crews and water circulation

don't know how close you live but i can loan you a tds meter to check your water quality. Judging be a previous thread of brown algae on the glass the phosphates are probably high in your water. If your flow isn't high enough to keep the muck from settling in your tank, new water isn't going...
