No skimmer. Using an ATS instead. I have to say it has far exceeded my expectations and I hope it continues to. I also run a filter sock for one day, every 10 days or so.

I don't know too much about them. Looking at their site, I see that they use 1 watt LED's. The comparable unit by Orphek would be the PR-156 unit. It uses 2 watt LED's. They both have blues that range from 450nm to 470nm. That seems pretty limited to me. The Ecoray and the orphek-156 both...

What LED system where you using?

With the 120 degree optics, the lights can be as close as 12 inches off the water. Also, the optics are interchangeable, so I can always switch them out if it's not a good fit.

I have had my ATS going for two months now. I'm really happy with it so far. I was amazed at how much algae I had growing so soon. I had a lingering cyano problem that I could not kick. After a few weeks with the ATS, my cyano was gone and so was all nuisance algae. My pod popupation also...
