    Fish Dying but Coral Thriving

Second Dipan00. I highly recommend setting up a QT, it gives you way more control over any internal or external diseases.

    Ugh! Tank is crashing

I would check parameters & stabilize any readings that are off balance, the low salt + death could have caused a big swings in parameters.

How are you keeping your tanks cooled

AC at 76 where the DT sits & door always remains closed.

    Chiller advise

Make sure your heater is not competing with the chiller or both heater & chiller will run nonstop until one burns out.

    Algae

+1 on peppy. Couldn’t have said it better. Look into the halloween urchin, those are great at controlling algae. Tuxedo urchins are great too. Fish wise, I would try a mower blenny, rabbitfish or a bristletooth tangs, it all depends on the size of your DT. Good luck.

    Sunny D Frag

Have you tried removing the polyps from the infested frag plug & glueing the polyps to a small piece of rock? Would be a shame to toss the frag when there’s a solution that is not to difficult to do. Plus it’s good skills to have in this hobby.

    New to the coral hobby

Hey, welcome. It would definitely help to know more about your setup, like date you started cycling the tanks, fish, inverts, flow, etc. Sharing your water parameters would help tons. Best to make sure you can provide an adequate environment because if not, you can lose the coral & it sucks...

Alright guys tell me what do you think!!

From my understanding, using the mud as your main substrate doesn’t work that well because of the amount of fish waste & left over food landing directly on the mud, exhausting the mud much quicker. Also, all that waste has to be siphoned out during weekly or biweekly water changes just with like...

    Cleaner shrimp attacking fungia

    Cleaner shrimp attacking fungia

Hey & welcome. There’s not much info to go by but I would look into the shrimps behavior pattern. Is the shrimp picking at the plate at any given time or after feeding? Is the plate releasing any substance from its mouth? In my experience, shrimps are great at finding food through odor & if the...

    Salt mix help.

I would go with the Red Sea pro, since you’re not dosing & I believe both d&d & Red Sea are made in the same facility last I heard, don’t quote me on that. I would also check tropic Marin, do some research on them & see if you like their synthetic salt. I switched to tropic Marin because of...
