Which LED strip for an algae reactor

Thanks everybody. I found a "waterproof" led strip that hopefully is waterproof by Oznium. It uses a 12 volt transformer. Hopefully it will meet my needs

Which LED strip for an algae reactor

No interest in using a cheap led strip but I would prefer something less then the cost of the tunze and flexible is easier to use than rigid. So I’m still looking for suggestions

Which LED strip for an algae reactor

Where did you order it from. I’m only seeing it in either 12k, or 453 no or combination of the two. I need it for chaeto growth

Which LED strip for an algae reactor

I am building a DIY mini algae reactor/fuge, kind of. Need a recommendation for an led strip that is water proof, does not put out a lot of heat, reliable and has the correct light spectrum to grow some chaeto. Appreciate suggestions.

    Schnitzel's Shallow Leemar 250

Your fts continue to amaze. The darn problem with keeping a tank stable is that so many points along the way where a sudden and significant hiccup can happen. Glad you caught the alk swing quickly

    New build

Well, I say more times than I like to admit, I hate sps. The top half of your corals look so happy, and the bottom half, well not so good. Frustrating and so trying to brainstorm what makes them get so unhappy so quickly. I hope you get it under control.

    Bean's 300 Gallon AGE Build

What a fun kick to see this tank develop (even if it is taking forever). The planning is meticulous, everything about this is really amazing. I am not a mechanical guy and neither very meticulous. And I am so envious. A lot of fun to follow your updates, keep them coming. The more the better.

Thank you, thanks for noticing When I look at that one in the tank, it doesn't look real either. That is a top down picture so that is as flattering as it gets. Another colony, very different but still really pretty Z's Disguise

    Bubble algae

I have also read the threads on vibrant with lots of success but there are some issues. I don’t know how many, but seemed a lot of tanks also had to deal with cyano as a result of or with vibrant use.

Anyone have experience with Fritz salt?

Mixes at 8.5 alk pretty consistently for me. I believe their goal is between 8-9 dKh. Question for Nick Shades , where do you order yours. I get mine either through saltwateraquarium.com or premiumaquatics.com for about $63-65 with free shipping for a box for 200 gallons

    Remember to calibrate Refractor

Utilizing a standard that is “off” is a problem. I have always assumed that my refractometer solution is accurate. You can check to see after calibrating to 35 ppt whether your ro/di calibrates to near zero. If there is a large discrepancy then you know something is wrong. I believe it was Randy...
