I'm very relieved to hear that this works. I got some new fish in QT that's been in there for a while [for observation{Yes, I've learned my lesson with this ich outbreak}]... Should I continue to keep them in the QT or is it safe to move them over to the DT while the 40 day treatment is underway?

You test if you medicate. New fish should be observed for 4-6 weeks. If you notice anything come back here for help or look it up. Perhaps someone else can help u with medications... I've never had to use them before. You can always try a RO dip before putting them in QT Sent from my Nexus 5

You could always move that HOB power filter over to your DT (as long as you dont use any meds) to let the bacteria colonize on the media when there are no fish, then move it back over to QT when you need to. Using water from DT will also help. Yes, Lights would be helpful and you can pick them...
