If you feed them a lot then yeah. I know mine died because I didn't feed enough. They need to constantly be eating, which is bad for bio load and all the other fish get fat in the process.

O yeah that happens. I thought for sure mine was dead but it regrew it's arm. So I guess it was healthy enough.

I've kept sand sifting starfish long term, but they are pretty boring. I read that orange linkias last longer than blue. I kept one for like a year and a half. It kept shrinking though and ended up getting eaten by a harlequin shrimp. I put the shrimp in for asterinas but forgot the stars were there

Also individual patterns are important. Personally I love Picassos, which have been around awhile, but still nice patterns command a higher price since everything is unique. Just pick what you like.
