This is true but the lens has a distance that it can focus at so you can't just slap the camera 6" away and focus.

Petsmart is have the 2 dollar a gallon with light and hood right now so if assume petco would have there sale around the same time.

Yeah 10 dollar clip on fan from target is what I use. I run a halide and it keeps me right about 80. Forgot to plug it back in one day and came home to my tank at 86. So it really does work.

At work when we diffuse leds we use lexan and sand it with 80 grit sand paper. Works really good you just have to sand it evenly.

I was actually going to go with the 5300 but I went to best buy and the guy helping me was a film student and he owned both nikon and a canon and he said for a beginner the canons are more user friendly i asked him a bunch if question and I thought the canon was a better choice.
