Will Red hot blue work?

Was testing my plumbing and discovered a leak at the return bulkhead. The return pvc line must have come loose during the move I can actually pull it out of the bulkhead. Can I use pvc cement to make it stay?

looks like the 2g blue one is meant to be used with a float valve. Would it work with an regular ato?

Recently my toadstool and some of my gsp don't extend their polyps as much. The change coincided with new PC bulbs I installed in this 24g nano cube. You can see in the pics the gsp toward the back of the tank is fully out. Could it just be the light? I do water changes every week.
