they are in there somewhere. It's quite often I take pics and the fish are MIA. It's quite odd since the male clown is usually hosting the elegance at the front of the tank these days.

I guess it goes to show that sps can adjust to unfavorable conditions if the changes happens slow enough. I have a Hanna Alk tester. I should have realized something was not going to be right as my ALK container was not emptying as fast as my Calcium container was. I really hope I don't lose...

So here's a pic just to show where everything is at and the new lights. The lights actually look less ugly in person from my vantage point, but they still aren't anywhere as nice as any of the previous fixtures aesthetically. I'm still debating on what I want to do to light the front part of the...

    MedRed's 60 Gallon Solana XL

will probably take some pics tomorrow. I still have my old fixture. My tank just had it's two year anniversary. I do a full sump cleaning annually. My first sump cleaning on this tank was easy since I upgraded to a new sump. I remove the reactors and pumps twice a year for cleaning and vinegar...

    MedRed's 60 Gallon Solana XL

Time for some Fall Cleaning! So I finally gave up on finding a radium bulb. I ordered and installed a 150W Phoenix to compliment the existing 250W. The crazy thing is that I was starting to get used to the ugly, yellow 10,000K bulb... AACCK!. I may try taking pics tomorrow. The one thing is...

July 2012 Featured Reef! Must see

Hey Mr. Plant! You are correct in that I keep only a few small fish to keep the bioload down. I also keep fish that aesthetically fit the scale of tank and fish with habits that are comfortable in a tank this size. I belong to the tang police, so I'm against placing very active or larger fish in...

What's the point of having an expensive clown? Anyone want to buy mine?

bummer he never came down. Both of mine now host corals. The female hosts a gonoipora and the male hosts my elegance.

I had 4 Aqua Medic Spacelight HQI pendants lying around from times gone by. I dusted two of them off. The 150 is a Spacelight EX and the 250 is just a spacelight. They don't really match that well since they are different sizes and series. If I did it over again, I would have done matching...

    MedRed's 60 Gallon Solana XL

It looks like the pyramid snails are gone. I've been inspecting and cleaning the clam nightly. I haven't seen any jelly egg cluster either. I still have no idea when I would have introduced them. so far, the lighting is going well. The back left pillar has a 150w halide over it and the back...

    WTB: Elos E-Power 250w & 150w

I specifically need 2 E-powers. Confuse... yes another light change... I adore the Geisemann, but I need to spotlight halides over the two back pillars. One halide can't reach the far side of the pillars.
