Pretty sure Spectracide would be "technical grade" in purity, this is from 99.4-99.7% pure. In all seriousness more pure than we really need for our purposes. That crack looks like it happened from whatever hit the radiused corner of your tank to the right of the fracture. Doesn't look like it's going to spread to me. Acrylic tanks do not typically experience seam failures unless they were improperly built to begin with.

My buddy just picked one up for a FW discus tank build, looks pretty badass. The thing that would sell me on it is the fact that it is actually removing gunk from the system rather than just trapping/teabagging it like a filter sock does.
