Check for any pests I had this happen in my tank before and I had those tiny starfish eating my zoas, zoa spiders can be a nuisance too. Id pull the piece and dip it if you can and look closely for pests on there.

Thats what I figured ill wait it out and see what happens hopefully its just a bloom and nothing leaching off of the man made rocks. just wanted to see if anybody has had a similar experience.

My dad has had a lot of success with his about midway up in the tank with medium flow. It has since doubled in size over about 1 year feeding it only once a week and by doing weekly water changes.
