Moving to Baltimore, 40br livestock FS

edit: These were taken with an ipad since apparently I don't have any other cameras. If these sell, maybe I'll buy a DSLR. Also note that I didn't clean the glass so everything looks duller than it should. In short: sorry for the crappy pictures. more pics: http://imgur.com/a/1wWcm In...

Moving to Baltimore, 40br livestock FS

For now, I'm going to ignore requests to part it out. Add up what you think you'd spend on colonies this big and you'll see that you'd be better off parting it out yourself if you have time... the unknown euphillia is really quite special, hopefully I can snap a good pic here in a few minutes...

Moving to Baltimore, 40br livestock FS

I'll try to list what I can, but there's bound to be more in there I forgot... Everything I have started as small frags. Nothing new has been added to the tank in over two years, it's just been growing steady. Most things are attached to the rockwork, so it'll have to come with. The rocks...

FS lighting stuffs icecap 660, reflectors, halide ballasts (150, 70)

ice-cap 660 with wiring and reflectors - $100 I haven't got the time to wire it all up to show that it works, but it worked when I took it down, so I don't see any reason it wouldn't work now. 2x ADVANCE magnetic ballasts 150Watts $75 for both 3x70w electronic ballasts - never wired up, not...

    giant colt coral, large frogspawn

these are the 'standard' corals, but they are very large/healthy. $50 for the colt $50 for the frogspawn probably toss in some orange 'shrooms and teal palys and maybe some encrusting gorgonian if you want them to try to take over your tank... I try to make sure no one leaves unhappy. ;-)...

    Sump/Refugium

you're going to have the best sump for your situation if you build it yourself. Glass and silicone aren't too tough to work with, and the fine people at Lowe's will cut glass to size for you. sounds like a 20 long would be a perfect fit. (30x12x12 IIRC)

    sps frags for sale

I think I had that same one at one point. Under less blue lighting it gets more yellow IIRC

    WTB overflow box

I need a overflow box enclosed on all sides, 5"X3" on the top and maybe 6" tall. Ideally I want one with two holes in the bottom and teeth on one 5" side out of black acrylic. I imagine this wouldn't be difficult to build--I pretty sure I could do it if I just had the box already made... So if...

    WTB Fluval Edge

Anyone out there pick one up and then get tired of the novelty? I'd like to give one a try, do some mods and such. Anyone have one they'd like to get rid of?

FS fully automated rimless 20g+sump, etc...

FS fully automated rimless 20g+sump, etc...

FS fully automated rimless 20g+sump, etc...

Well, I'd like to tear this tank down before school starts again and I get busy as all hell. Will hold on pay-pal forward. pics coming up tomorrow after I tear it down. Many of you have seen this setup, it's very "clean" and runs as silent as any system I've ever had. $400 for all of this: 20g...

Can someone tell me how to use a Digital Light Lux Meter

kelvin is not a rating of intensity (in this situation). a short synopsis is this: If you heated something up to this temperature in kelvin (kelvin is = celsius-273.15), this is the approximate spectrum of light emitted. Lux measures how intense the light is, approximated to the visual...

Instant Ocean Salt Mix has "NITRATES"

I bet it shows fairly high nitrates for your tap, though. Last I checked, EPA limit is somewhere near 10ppm, 100x higher than you read from your saltwater. I'm not sure exactly what the reagents are and thus can't tell you exactly what they'd do in tap, but I can say that tap water is no...

Can someone tell me how to use a Digital Light Lux Meter

does your meter give you kelvin rating or do you approximate kelvin reading to compensate for different lighting environments? sounds neat. my fav. thing to do was comparative analysis of different bulbs, locations, etc. also very useful for determining lifespan of bulbs.

    Sand

you miss southdown, ehh? that stuff was the best! I've heard of people using pulverized limestone, which is available at some big box hardware/feed stores, but I haven't had to search in a LONG time, so I can't be of more help. It's used as a substrate for chicken feed, IIRC.
