I've never had a bad experience with Mike personally. He's always been really helpful and friendly when I go into his store. I've never ordered frags from him online, but apparently he has a "cult" following online of people ordering from him =). I would give him a chance, his corals are awesome.

It's a little early for a mandarin... you usually want a tank at least 6 months or older since their main food source comes from pods in the tank. As far as the powerhead it should be fine in your tank. I have the same one in my 40 and I have it set to W1 S3 dial set in the middle setting.
