Doesn't the water being over the height of the refugium walls defeat its purpose since there's no contained area for chaeto to process nitrates?

Good info, might explain why my RODI only puts out about 2 gal per hour. Might have to look into getting a booster pump now.

I do about 15% every other week in our 40g mixed reef.
