    F-ing wind

Makes perfect sense, this is one of the reason I ended up with two generators and parallel connections to double the capacity. I would be in a similar situation with my portable A/C and Refrigerator. I haven't needed to use both yet, but I envision nightmare scenario where a heat wave (100...

    F-ing wind

Peak was hard to measure because it is pretty instant, but with the compressor running between 160w to 200w of continuous load. If I had to ball park it, peak is around 1,000w for that split second. Something to consider when buying a generator to make sure it can work properly for your...

    F-ing wind

2000w generator for me, it ran 2 tanks and fridge at less than half load approximately 800w of continuous power. Lots of variables can change this, but should give you an idea.

    F-ing wind

Couldn't agree more! Generator has saved me at least on 3 separate occasions including once for my parents. Glad everything is okay.

How Do I Kill Aptasia on a Rock?

Aiptasia X has proven to be most effective for me, that's what I would use in this situation where you need to be sure it doesn't come back.

    Beginner SPS recommendations?

Joe the Coral, Green Slimmer, Purple Stylo. What you're looking for are corals that are fast growers and pretty hardy.

    Dosing or Calc reactor

I've been very curious to try Ca Reactor. I've had modest success with 2 part and Kalk in the ATO. Most tanks I start up, I start with Kalk alone for the first six months to a year, and only supplement after I see corals taking off. Ca Reactor I think is the next level of complexity for me...

    PH issues!!

As long as you have a precise ATO this is not an issue. Tunze is perfect for this application because the optical eye can detect very small fluctuations in water level, dosing less kalk each time. You still get little spikes, but as you can see from my results these spikes are not an issue.

    PH issues!!

For me Kalk works and I can see why it would be so popular, first it's super easy and second it uses equipment you already have. Quick tip: 1 teaspoon per gallon in the summer, 2 teaspoons per gallon in the winter. Been super happy with my results, ran this tank with nothing but Kalk for the...

    Best news ever from Edison...

It's the little things that catch us off guard sometimes. Did everything work out ok? Talk about timing, right time and place. :)

    PH issues!!

You can adjust both the drip rate and concentration of kalk depending on your goals. But this is a very manual process. Bite the bullet and get an Osmolator. Sounds like a bad probe, electrical interference, or issues with calibration. 7.5 is too low with that Alk reading (I agree with Scott)...
