So I've did a test run on my soon to be mod ac50 into a fuge. I attached a jebo 13watt light next to the filter and had it shine over the fuge but noticed a significant amount of light spill into the tank. Will that be okay when I cycle the reef light off? How can I prevent that much light...

Thanks for all the input, I did read a fan will cause evaporation but since it's been at a steady 80-81F, I think it'll be fine and winter is around the corner! If anything, I'd prefer it to low than raise since I have a heater I can throw in there.

Oh I see, buy from LFS as in buy their used sand in their tanks? Is it common that LFS will be willing to do that? I understand that's better since theres more life in it than the packaged sand.

interesting! don't want to hi-jack this thread but when pouring sand say from petsmart in the package with water inside, do I need to pre-rinse or just pour everything in there at once.
