what kind of mantis shrimp are you getting and how big? depending on the size, i wouldn't worry about a glass tank. i've kept several peacock mantis shrimp before and never had an issue with a glass tank, and they've hit the glass directly before. the biggest one was 5". of course you should...

That looks great John! How did you cut the acrylic? So much better to make a custom reservoir, I can never take advantage of the full space under my tank. Nice job!

I've been using reef crystals for over a year and have been generally happy with it. no major issues to report luckily

how are you planning on hanging the lights? is it necessary to breakdown your tank for it? what about just getting something to cover the top of the tank so you don't have to worry about anything falling in?

ya they're both pretty aggressive, so you don't want them touching

well it's been a couple days since i went lol, but stopped by at aqua sd and that store blew my mind!!! the owners were awesome and i've never seen so many gorgeous corals in one place!!! i kind of wish i never went, now i'm hooked... lol
