    Chalices Questions

Jus Just texted you some of my favs. They are VERY slow growers though, hence the price. That said — my WWC Goldmeister is a beast! Chalices will kill your SPS - don’t put them on sand, get buried and die. Put them on the bottom since they don’t like/need strong flow and/or light.

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Looking good — they are super hardy and fast growers! Besides, you just need to master the most important parameter: TIME! lol

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

Your params look good. My humble feedback is stop "chasing numbers" to be in a "perfect" range. Each tank is different. I do watch mine but I react in slow motion -- from alk "swings" to nutrients level, just do it slowly. Your tank will tell you if it's unhappy! As for N & P -- my 3.5yo...

    Jimbo’s CDA 250

After awhile, you'll learn to hate plate corals since they can overshadow & take over other prized sticks! I've tried to kill them several times but failed...they are super resilient! Putting them on a small rock island so you can move them later might be a good strategy.

    Calcium reactor pH problem

I’m on a GEO 618, Alan Le regulator, and Versa pump. My effluent rate is 40mL/min and the CO2 inside the reactor is 6.62-6.65, enough to keep 150g SPS-dominant tank between 8.5-9dKH. Assuming that your pH probe is still good, try to lower the effluent rate? That should lower your CO2 inside...

    Sea Sweep and Jebao SOW-20

If this works out well, I’ll get another Jebao for the other side of the 360g, which will get buffed tomorrow. The plan is to put 1 Sea Sweep on each end, 2 MP40s in the center, and I’m undecided on the return(s).

    Sea Sweep and Jebao SOW-20

Check this out — I managed to make this work. Instead of the Tunze, you can mount a Jebao in its place. Just need to widen 2 of 4 holes on the Jebao and use the existing SS’ plastic screws to secure. Besides, I can buy 5 Jebao SOW-20 (5200gph) for the price of 1 Tunze 6105 (3400gph)!

    WTB Tunze 6105 x2

I've heard of many success stories on the Jebao return pump as well. I have a Vectra M2 (for return) and Vectra S2 (frag tank, backup return & media reactors) so I'm covered there. Agreed on the value though -- just need a powerful pump running one mode (return water to the tank) so it should...

    WTB Tunze 6105 x2

I bought a Jebao SOW-20 last night on Amazon for $68 to test out the fitting. It will be interesting — almost “disposable”? :)

    WTB: Gigantea carpet anemone

I heard that gigs are usually found at the end of the rainbow. There might be some leprechauns guarding these gigs as well — so… no! lol I’ll just stick with Haddonis for now
