    Skimmer Question

A well designed sump, and a return pump that is NOT drastically oversized, should be able to prevent MBs from getting back to the display. With that said, I am confused as to how the bubbles are getting out the bottom of your SWC 120...from where exactly? FWIW: I once thought my skimmer was...

WTT: High end frags and/or Equipment for Mac Hardware, Software etc.

Wow. Quite a lab you got going there...wish I had a working Mac to spare...most of my extra Macs are used for parts...and they're a bit long in the tooth anyway. BTW: Your equipment link is not working. Here is the correct link: http://www.socalireefs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15094

8" is the optimal depth for this skimmer IIRC. Water changes and running extra carbon will be your best bet.

    Frag tank, lights and sump

FWIW: Am I the only one to notice that these dimensions make no sense? The tank looks like it is probably 30" long (30"x17"x7.5") , and the sump looks like a 20H (24"x12"x16"). Not that the pics don't speak for themselves... Anyhow, nice frag tank setup! GL with sale...

Key to running a successful nano reef

Plumbing your nano into a really huge sump or another system helps. ;) There have already been some great suggestions. Low bioload, ATO, and heat controller being thre key elements. I would like to add the following: I think the tendancy is to stuff too much rock into those small nanos, which...

    MASVC Frag Swap December 5th

This was the first frag swap I've been to and I had a great time. Got 5 awesome frags from only one vendor, but I saw several vendors I'd buy from. I bought some of that $2/lb dry rock, a Via Aqua tank that will make a perfect fuge, and won the following for $20 in tickets at the raffle: 1 Seio...

WTB a skimmer for my 240 gl tank

Whose research and studies? I'd like to read the white papers. Seriously, when I see all the turbulence near the base of my Euro-Reef skimmer neck, it has me wondering whether -some- of those organics that adhered to the bubble surface are knocked free before reaching the neck. With my i-Tech...

    Best controller for the money

I have an RKE. Works reliably, but I would like better logging and graphing in the display. I have the RKM-NET module, but have not hooked it up yet. This would solve the graphing and logging issue, but you cannot configure the controller from the NET module. Pretty silly that they have not...
