    Alk won't go over 5.5

That's what's frustrating. I don't have anything that really uses CA. I have 2 frags of Zoa's, and no other corals. For over a year, the tank was nice and stable. Haven't changed salt, using Oceanic. It mixes up at 1.023 with 420Ca, 1250-1300Mg and 8.5-9 dKH. I need to get my own better...

    Alk won't go over 5.5

CA is 410, LFS says mag is 1500... Though I've never dosed anything, and my water mixes up between 1250-1300 Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

If I mix up a batch of water, it tests at 8.5-9 Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Never said that, but in my OP I stated what corals I had. I apologize I assumed you didn't read the rest of my OP. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Alk won't go over 5.5

I've been reefing for 10 years. Not a noob. A. My corals are listed in the OP. 2 frags of Zoas... I have nothing that uses CA. The tank was fine before I moved it. Right now my test kit is an API, but that's why I took a sample to my LFS, because I know API aren't good. However, my alk...

    Alk won't go over 5.5

According to the LFS, my mag is 1500. I'll have them check that again, because I don't dose anything, and my salt is normally around 1250 on Mg Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Algae and phosphate?

Actually, no. Dynos aren't anything to do with silica. You're thinking of diatoms. And silica isn't a form of phosphates... Silica is silica, based from silicon dioxide. Phosphates are based from phosphorus. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

    Alk won't go over 5.5

Subject says it all. I moved my tank back in July across town. Due to cyano, I took the time it was torn down to replace the sand and scrub the rock. Used 60 pounds of fresh Fiji Pink, and scrubbed all my rock with a stiff brush 3 times in fresh saltwater every time. It's a 55g sumpless...

    Anemone questions...

Well, they finally died... Salinity was identical, temp was identical, but the ex had unplugged the skimmer a week before, so 75% clean water must have been too much of a shock to them. Fish and the Zoas I had are all OK. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Anemone questions...

Yep. All of them. And one had just split before the move Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Anemone questions...

Had 2 RBTA'S a year ago. Have 6 now. Sunday they were happy as could be. Moved the tank to my new place, and the nems/rock etc were all submerged in tank water. Got the tank half full of new, half full of old and added all the rock/nems/corals back in. Added the fish. Salinity was the same...

    Protect hardwood floors

Is anyone using anything to protect hardwood floors from spillage? If so, what? I'm moving my 55 to my new place Sunday and want to get everything ready to go. Thanks Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    HOB skimmer info...

So for a HOB skimmer for a sumpless 55, I am tired of the coralife super skimmer... Keeps having the venturi plug and just starts pumping water into my drain bucket. My GF caught it this morning and unplugged it with the water about 2" below the top of the 5g drain bucket. I am looking at...

    Cyano...

Bulbs are new. Have 2 65w PC dual actinics and 2 65w 10k PC. I've got 2 800gph power heads, and they are giving the most circulation without blowing my sand around. One of the heaviest areas of cyano is right where one of the power heads is blasting. I've siphoned it off multiple times as...

    Cyano...

I'm using a Hannah for PO4, fresh api for all others. Water out of the RO/DI is 0 TDs, source is well water here. Have 3 lakes surrounding us within 1/4 mile in all directions. Changed bulbs when it started. Just ran tests again, all the same except Nitrates are below 5ppm. Haven't changed...
