    Fragging 101 with a bang

I placed a pretty little JF Flame frag high up on my rockwork a good while ago and it blossomed into a beautiful colony. So much so that it started to shade corals beneath it. I have fragged it previously but unfortunately I left it untrimmed for too long. My issue with it is that not only is...

New potential approach to treating AEFW in-tank

There is a really interesting thread on Reefcentral ( http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2670592&highlight=aefw ) regarding AEFW. Zeovit Flatworm Stop and wormwood have been suggested as in tank treatments without removing sps. I don't believe anyone has come up with a working...

RRC Pink Cadillac plus lots of other rare and just plain pretty SPS

My tank is in a very happy place right now with good color and growth. I have trimmed to make some frags available. Some of the frags are chunky and encrusted and some are small, the pictures should make it clear which is which. Most frags have been cut for many weeks as you can tell by the...

    Triton Results

What do you think: I got my triton results, I do this about once a year or so. Interesting findings. My hanna checker for ULR said my PO4 were about .054 ppm (converted from phosphorous 17 ppm) but triton said almost undetectable. And triton found that Silicate was high and my Iodine low.

SPS Sale, some pretty colors, some rare and some very, very rare

My tank is pretty darn happy right now and I needed to trim some. I am in the west San Fernando valley. My wife asks that I not have reefers whom I don’t know personally in our home--sorry. I can meet you nearby. If your frags do not survive, contact me—it’s a hobby and I want happy reefers...

    Darth Maul Porites

Anybody got any pictures to share. I think one of the weirdest and under-rated sps. Its not commonly seen for sale but frags usually go out for about $40 or $50, I believe. Considering how slow it grows, I am surprised it doesn't sell for a lot more. Anyway, a very cool and brightly colored...

Photos using Reefbrite XHO all blue leds with filter

I don't understand how blue LED lit pictures are photographed. I ordered a large sample of "sample" plastic filters to see how photos might turn out. I have been impressed by the Walt Disney photos and videos under all blue LEDS that show all the color on this coral that might otherwise not...

    Siporax: Nitrates

I added Siporax a few months ago. My nitrates have been between 5-10 ppm checked routinely for a long time. A couple weeks ago, the siporax kicked in and nitrates dropped to .25 ppm checked with Red Sea pro and confirmed by salifert. I have a 180 tank with lots of fish 15-20 ( I haven't...

Which reef forums do you visit?

I visit Socalireefs, R2R and RC routinely. I occasionally visit Gtaaquaria to see what's going on in Toronto reefing and see if there is some new Canadian Acro floating around that we haven't heard of. Are there other forums worth looking at?
