300+ pounds of real live rock $1 pound or make offer for all.

I just took down my 360 gallon tank and need to sell my live rock that I've had for almost a decade. The rock has coralline, mushrooms, and plenty of live critters (tiny starfish) all over it. I believe most of it is Tonga. There are some large show pieces as well. Selling for only $1 a pound or...

    When to throw out bta

usually when the foot doesn't stick to anything it's a clear indication of the death spiral. Or, if the mouth stays open at a certain size and doesn't deviate from that.

    Intro post

A few words of advice. When you're ready to buy a tank don't start from scratch. Buy a turn-key system from someone quitting the hobby. This way you get everything you need fairly cheap. Patience is always the key with reef tanks. Nothing good happens fast. Make friends with a few reefers and...

    Leveling steel stand.

Once you get it all level I would put wood shims under the stand close to the legs so that you take all the strain off the bolts. It's also another safety measure. That's just me though.

    Really cool device!

I think anyone who has ever scratched a tank with a mag cleaner would be a bit hesitant to automate this job. I thought about this idea years ago but kept thinking...what if a grain of sand or something else sharp got caught under it.

    Leveling steel stand.

why can't you use the 48" level front to back? Who cares if it hangs over. It'll be a lot more accurate then a 6" smack in the middle. also, are you throwing a sheet of plywood on top of the stand or just putting the tank right on it?

...until the rust kicks in and the threads rip off. I've never been a fan of steel stands.

    Jan's Tropical fish review

Ive bought a few fish from them before. They all made it just fine. Their tanks are usually clean and the selection is decent. I'm use to walking into other places and seeing all the lights turned down so you can't spot the ich.

    Stand for a 240

I use to build custom stands for people back in the day. I would advise against oak if you're going with espresso stain. You're just wasting your money. I guess if you're limited to stands from LFS then you don't have much choice. But, if you are asking for a custom build then consider poplar or...
