I was thinking the same. Like i mentioned above melting more media increases the chances of clogging up your reactor. The bad part is you'd never know it was clogged unless you see it or test your alk. A clogged reactor and away for the weekend can cause a disaster in short time.

May i ask at what ph do you run your reactor? Have you tried running it slightly lower to get a more concentrated effluent without melting the media in the reactor thus using less co2? I tried that for a while and it worked but my reactor constantly clogged.

Are you having issues with low ph? Do you run your fuge light opposite of your display lights? Curious what your ph swing is since i just now switched back to my calcium reactor and stopped 2 part. I blamed my slow growth on low ph but looks like i was wrong.

I found that the higher the pressure the more sensitive the needle valve gets. 10 psi was just perfect on my cheap regulator.

Looks like you have a Burket solenoid. I believe they have a on/off life cycle of 1 billion. You're good. lol. I have a very inexpensive regulator. Time to get alanle to build me one and get my reactor back on line.

How often does it switch on/off in a 24hour period? Thats a very small gap. I was afraid of my solenoid failing prematurely when i had a setting of 6.75 off and 7 on. It would switch off maybe 2-3 times during lights on but 10-12 times during lights off.
