I did almost the exact same thing. Loaded my tank with bottled bacteria (3-4 different kinds) and added vinegar/vodka (carbon), and let it cook. Also got into a bacterial bloom. I think we have same line of thinking to start a tank with dead rock/sand.

For me, I trust my Hanna or Salifert checker results more than my Trident. So I always independently test Calc, Alk and Mag with the Hanna/Salifert test kits for my calibration, and use that as my calibration input into Trident. You might want to test the calibration fluid with the test kits...
