Definitely go rimless! Gotta hang your light though. And yea sc aquariums has amazing tank set ups for cheap I got my 50 Gallon cube plug and play for $500 brand new.

I had kind of a similar problem, I'm pretty sure a six line wrasse will help control that.

I currently have one that's been set up for about 2 years and has been great!! No major issues with it and I have the black mdf stand and have had basically 0 warping. The one thing I did change was the return pump I got a good deal on a larger pump and only had the one that came with it running...
