I have my Gyre and 2 other circ pumps on the Apex...at night I turn them off at different times, and start again at diff times..... I keep another circ pump that I keep behind the rocks (deadspots) on 24/7.

I can only suggest you call Ecotech Marine, they can tell you more about it's specific's ....but I will tell you on mine it seemed to struggle a bit at a 4' head high . I ended up changing the whole return line setup and it works amazingly well now, better that before.

same with mine when we feed the Duncans, or our brain coral. I used old tupperware container and drilled holes around it, placed over brain and shoot food in holes and it stays in there gives better chance for them to eat..
