    Peppermint shrimp molesting corals

Thanks again. Yeah probably bristle and they seem to be under control so far. Stupid clowns still aren't hosting the bubble tip nem....I added two damsels (blue and black one) and everyone seems to be getting along just fine. Got my skimmer up and running and it looks like a happy, healthy...

    Peppermint shrimp molesting corals

Thank you guys, I had a suspicion. Also....I noticed a worm with many feet that was flat....and had a grey stripe down the middle of its back. The rest of it was white. I couldn't get a picture....but it was out in the daytime. From my description.....any guesses if good worm?

    Peppermint shrimp molesting corals

It's looking like my peppermint shrimp is an asshole. I bought a brand new dendrophyllia last week. Put it in the upstairs tank....3gal pico. Not the best idea because nitrates up to 80ppm. So today I moved him down to the main tank which is mature and established. I feed the dendro via...

What's this red stuff and why is it getting dangerously close to my Zoas?

I'm good. Everything pulled through and we successfully completed the final solution for the red slime in my tank. Green hair algae still there....but whatever.

What's this red stuff and why is it getting dangerously close to my Zoas?

I should also mention that I'm using it on a JBJ 24ga nano tank....and prior to dosing I turned the power head way up, toward the top of the tank (surface disturbance) so it's really creating some oxygen bubbles in the tank.

so apparently you need to use an airstone when using chemi-clean. I did not. I added it at 6pm on Sunday. Did I screw up or should I do an immediate water change Monday morning?

New coral (dendrophyllia) care and selling corals?

Thanks....yeah I'm going to move the dendro to an overhang so he's partially in the shade. I fed him/her/it today.....it was kinda cool. Put some frozen mysis in a turkey baster and squirted him 2 of them. He closed up and ate it.

New coral (dendrophyllia) care and selling corals?

But seriously.....is a 16watt light too much for the dencrophyllia? Or any care tips? A few thousand bucks to me is chump change and about what I spent on my tank last year.

New coral (dendrophyllia) care and selling corals?

Yeah alcohol isn't my drug of choice. I honestly can't stand the ****. So instead of a saloon, I will open up an opium den (smoking only). Much better to get high than drunk. And I could probably run whores like there's no tomorrow.....but who wants to be around a bunch of women on their...

What's this red stuff and why is it getting dangerously close to my Zoas?

So I was at my local fish store....it's the one off of Fairview and.....Warner? in Orange County Ca. They are some cool people there and they got a $10 back everytime you spend $100. Anyways so I stopped by and in passing conversation I complained about the red slime. The 16 year old kid...

New coral (dendrophyllia) care and selling corals?

I just picked up a dendrophyllia today. Then I had a bright idea: Instead of putting it in my display tank....how about I put it in the 3 gallon pico tank that I got. This is going to be a "coral only" tank. So I took some water (~2gallons) from my display tank, 2 piece of live rock and some...

What's this red stuff and why is it getting dangerously close to my Zoas?

I just put on some gloves and pulled out as much as I could by hand. The red stuff is inter-twined with the green hair algae. I never realized how much work a 24ga nano is.....and how expensive.

What's this red stuff and why is it getting dangerously close to my Zoas?

I had to don some gloves to take a zoa that the stupid blenny knocked off a rock.....and I just pulled out a **** ton of the slime with my hands. That and the hair algae.

What's this red stuff and why is it getting dangerously close to my Zoas?

As the title states.....and the entire area that the "red slime" stuff is occupying....USED to be occupied by some real tough green hair algae. I then got a lawnmower blenny. Is the slime going to attempt to consume my Zoa? Is this bad slime? Good slime? Otherwise? thank you

Clowns hosting - how to discourage

They're sold out. The nem is now closed up completely.....not sure why. Perhaps my lawnmower blenny molested it? What do you guys think would happen....if I took the empty 3gal pico tank I got lying around.....and pour 2-1/2 gallons of water from my tank, a small bag of "live sand" and a...

Clowns hosting - how to discourage

So the **** nem moved since I made this post this morning. It's retracted FULLY into the cave in the rock it was hanging out in. Closed up like the day I brought it home. is this normal for a bubble tip nem? The lights are still on.....the only thing that could have molested it was a crab or...

Poor planning on my part (Maxima clam stuck)

Thanks....yeah entire package was $19.99. I should have gone to Michael's and bought modeling clay and made my own. But it came with 2 discs. So when and if this guy outgrows the current disc.....I will file down the edges of the other one and put him on that one. I wonder if he was in...

Clowns hosting - how to discourage

Ok will give it another month or so.....but at night time, the nem closes up. He backs himself into a cave type rock and then closes up. I also like the floating breeder tank idea.....but isn't that going to be a bit small in a 24ga nano tank? All the corals close up at night time as well...
