    Free Chaeto!

Can you bring it to Hemet? I could use as much as you're willing to part with. I'd just come get it, but we're currently low on gas. We're just really short at the end of the month.

    My Treasure 150g Reef

I have some good news :) my mind has been more clear lately, and all my fish are doing well. The corals, not so much. I have a friend who really needs me right now, so my money has to go to getting there for a visit this next month; hopefully after that I will have enough cash to buy the things...

They have their $10 section back, if anyone's interested.

Kyle's my favorite to talk to at the store, too XD I don't think I ever asked his screen name, though...

    Free sand and live rock

Sadly, I can't. A social security disability budget does not allow for much in a month. Sometimes I don't have spending money at all. This time I just already spent the $25 I had left after bills and groceries on frozen brine shrimp.

    My Treasure 150g Reef

This last couple of weeks has me a bit depressed. My birthday fish, a Klein's butterfly that was supposed to help me with my aiptasia, went from great (eating, calm, colored-up) to dead in the span of about 12 hours. We think it was velvet. I know it's risky to get attached before they are out...

    Free sand and live rock

I want it, but Chino is a ways away. Do you ever come down closer to Hemet?

Deep Sea Creations - Temecula, CA

They've rebuilt quite nicely, including a much bigger coral tank (and my favorite spot, the $10 section, is back!) They have only one display tank now, though, the one with their logo on it. Sad.

To keep or not to keep. Bristle worms

I've had bristles for years and never had a problem besides a few stings when I've been moving rocks around. They're helpful little guys. I say as long as you don't have the fireworm variety (it's much brighter red with more bristling. It's quite predatory and stings REALLY hurt), keep them.

My butterfly died suddenly - but why?!

I wanted to deworm her, and it was suggested that she might have gill flukes because she was flashing a little and I couldn't find any ich. I am coming to believe that it was velvet, based on my thread on R2R. I should have followed my instincts and used copper for whatever might be causing the...

My butterfly died suddenly - but why?!

My newly acquired Klein's butterfly was eating great, even just yesterday...until yesterday night. She wasn't interested in dinner. I figured she just felt a little off because I had dosed prazipro, along with a water change. This morning I found her dying. I would have blamed velvet for it to...

Deep Sea Creations - Temecula, CA

I forgot to add something. When my Dad used their aquarium setup service, the guys that came to do it really didn't have their act together. I can't recommend using this service. We have not tried their maintenance service.

Deep Sea Creations - Temecula, CA

I know this is not a sponsor or even a seller on the forums, but I need to tell you guys about Deep Sea Creations in Temecula, CA. It's a bit of a drive from my home, but so worth it if you are going for fish or corals. The staff there is friendly and quite knowledgeable (I really geek out...

    My Treasure 150g Reef

I bought a chalk basslet earlier this month, but it passed the same night. COD was most likely getting too cold that night. Who would have thought you needed a heater IN JUNE with a broken a/c. x.x There's one in there now to keep it from getting colder than 76F. My fiancee came through again...

    My Treasure 150g Reef

OK...sorry, I haven't been updating because I've been in a lot of pain lately. It's getting better, though. In any case...got lightly-used miracle mud from Dad...it's in the sump now...I did it 'wrong' and got a ton of silt in the tank and unfortunately the silt is all on the top of the mud, but...

    My Treasure 150g Reef

I AM OFFICIALLY ENGAGED to the love of my life <3 <3 <3 It doesn't deserve mentioning in the same post, but so far the velvet has not reappeared. Feeling good about it. The fish are basically eating out of my hand now, too n_n

    My Treasure 150g Reef

Okay, moment of truth time! I'm excited because I finally get to put the first test fish in the reef. I'm praying I haven't contaminated the DT...my test fish may become a test sacrifice and force me to leave it fallow for another period of time. I really hope that doesn't happen.

    My Treasure 150g Reef

Day 11 Put down one of the older babies with a nasty bacterial or fungal infection on his back half. Treating it at this time was not feasible and it appeared to be hurting him, as his swimming was severely affected. I would guess that he and the previous dead baby got into a fight, causing the...

    My Treasure 150g Reef

Upon further research, it appears that wild mollies travel back and forth from salt to brackish to fresh at will, so having them in a marine tank is not really out of their comfort zone. Commercially-bred mollies may be less tolerant, but acclimated slowly mine have flourished. They are very...
