Hi guys,
So 7 months later.I finally started on my tank! About 2 weeks after we got the tank, I bought a new truck. Decided to put this to-be-expensive new project on hold while I managed a new car payment for a while. However, Nick (nsakis) recently tore his tank down and I begged him to let me keep the clownsenter my abrupt tank build.

After two times building the sump/plumbing, tearing it down, and building againeverything finally flowed smoothly with no leaks. I packed my whole truck FULL with fish supplies from Redlands>>Bakersfield. Got home at 1100pm, made 15 trips from truck to apartment, and began assemblywent to bed at 0600am with wakeups every 30 min to check the temperature since it had dropped during the drive.

A week later everything is still doing fine. I have my two prized black & white misbar clowns, a peppermint shrimp, a pistol shrimp, and a few corals. I know next to nothing about fish so this is a big project for mebut I like a challenge and I LOVE my tank.

The one thing I am struggling with is my lighting. Its definitely too close to the water and doesnt provide coverage to all of the tank. I dont particularly want to hang it so Im wondering if anyone has any ideas. Its just a flat strip of LEDs. Am willing to build or DIY if need be.
I would appreciate any input, on anything! :) Thanks!

Here are a few specs...
Tank Dims - 18"x18"x8" Acrylic
Lighting - Green Element EVO 18-22" LED - 10 3W LEDs
Filtration - Fuge with chaeto, Live rock, weekly water changes (decided against a skimmer for now
Plumbing - Rear overflow, 3/4" PVC, Loc Line from return pump for flow
16lbs sand, ~20lbs of live rock

Nice! You could bend and paint conduit for a DIY light hanger and hang the LED from there.

Sounds like you had a brutal but fun night.
