Well, a 220 gallon fell into my lap and I'm pulling the trigger on this project. The tank is clear glass on all sides. I'm building the stand over an existing half wall instead of demolishing it (wife's choice!) I just started cutting and assembling the stand. I'll be sure to post progress pics.

Thanks! If you ask some of the old timers around here, they'll tell you about the time a 180 glass tank slipped out the back of my vehicle and exploded in the street!! Fun times!

So, the stand structure for the monster 220 tank (which isn't here yet) is pretty much done. I'll skin it and make it all fancy later. The tank is 72 x 24 x 30.
As you can see, I constructed it so it would slide over an existing half wall without compromising it. (Happy wife). It will slide all the way back once I break down the existing 240.
Can't wait to get this thing rolling!

Added a 40W UV sterilizer to the 240. I know it's coming down in a few days, but a recent parasite outbreak prompted me to add it now versus later.

Good thing you have your sump elsewhere and not under the stand. It's a pretty tight spot under that stand with that half wall in there.
